2025 Theme : Worthy

Thank you for your willingness to serve the Lord through the ministry of BYC this summer. BYC exists to engage, encourage, and equip people to follow Jesus through providing opportunities for genuine awe, intentional community, and authentic worship. This takes place all over campus, and we want to be sure to direct our efforts to these ends around the dinner table, in recreation, during chapel, and in each aspect of camp.

The 2025 Baptist Youth Camp theme is “Worthy”.  God alone is worthy to be praised and worthy to be followed. In contrast to human rulers God is perfect. Through our weeks of camp the goal will be to encourage and remind campers and staff that the Lord is worthy of worship! God is unchanging, He is the perfect creator, the faithful one. Sadly, sin entered the world and as a result all of creation is broken. Over the course of human history there has been an ongoing battle waging, as result we too are broken, sinful people, in need of a rescuer. We often chase after other things we “think” are worthy, however they always end up failing us; creating more hurt, and deeper separation from God. In and through Jesus, God-in flesh, we can have victory in this battle over sin. He lived a perfect life, gave himself as the ultimate sacrifice through death on a cross, He was buried and amazingly 3 days later rose to life - defeating the power of death. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we realize that this worthy Savior has granted us impeccable worth in Christ. Scripture says those who are in Christ are a new creation. As we consider the implications of this and the impact on our lives it is reasonable, and essential to adjust our thinking in all aspects, to live lives of worship of the one who is worthy. The Lord’s prayer, as we find in scripture, is the prayer that Jesus taught his followers to pray. While it is a short prayer it is rich with truth and reminds us of the ways that we can declare He is Worthy.

Memory Verse: Matthew 6 :9-13Pray then like this “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
As we unpack these verses we hope to highlight the following elements:(Hallowed be your name) the Lord is Worthy of Praise
(Your Kingdom come) the Lord is Worthy to rule
(Your Will be done) the Lord is Worthy to be followed
(Give us this day…) the Lord is Worthy to be trusted
(Forgive us our debts) the Lord is Worthy, he is victorious,  qualified, & faithful to forgive
(deliver us from evil) the Lord is Worthy to be first place, the Lord is Worthy to be worshipped above all else the Lord is victorious.
Each summer we try to have some fun and “set the stage”. This summer our theme Decor/thematic element is that of a Kingdom (think Roman Empire)

Our theme song for the summer is ”You Are” (by Crowder)

The "last dinner" we will invite people to dress up as followers of Jesus throughout the ages... just for fun!
