Thank you for your willingness to serve the Lord through the ministry of BYC this summer. BYC exists to engage, encourage, and equip people to follow Jesus through providing opportunities for genuine awe, intentional community, and authentic worship. This takes place all over campus, and we want to be sure to direct our efforts to these ends around the dinner table, in recreation, during chapel, and in each aspect of camp.
The 2024 Baptist Youth Camp theme is “Good News”. The idea of Good News comes from the fact that the Gospel, the good news is not just a one time event, rather something that impacts the rest of our lives; each day, and each moment. Below is our memory verse for this summer. It’s a bit longer than some of the ones in the past, but doable.
Memory Verse: Ephesians 2(8-10) NLT “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
As we unpack these verses we hope to highlight the following elements: • Knowing the Good News • Resting in the Good News • Living in light of the Good News • Sharing the Good News
Each summer we try to have some fun and “set the stage”. This summer our theme Decor/thematic element is that of a Newspaper office, news studio, podcast, video-blog… This connection highlights that the news is intended to communicate the truth. The Good News of Jesus is true and what we read in Ephesians 2 reminds us of how God has worked. He saves and then he continues to work in the lives of his followers.
Our theme song for the summer is”The King is Alive” (by Jordan Feliz)
The "last dinner" we will invite people to dress up as reporters, bloggers, newsies, camera people... just for fun!
